Just some time back i was trying to find some pictures, so i thought it will be good idea to find some on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) as users on Flickr have always a very good and excellent collection of photos

When i was trying to access Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) through my favourite browser Mozilla Firefox v2.0.0.6, it showed me an error saying that the connection to the website was reset, i thought it must be my connection problem and then once again i clicked on try again and then again on refresh button in my browser

Well now i really started to get suspicious, its not my connection, its not my browser, then is there something wrong with the website Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) ?

So i did a Google Search to findout if there was anything wrong with their website (http://www.flickr.com/), then i found this title like "Flickr: We’re having a massage"

From that i was able to makeout that they must have, had some downtime or they were undergoing some maintenance activity or they were releasing some new set of features due to which the website was temporarily unavailable, even though the Google Cache Records was showing nothing much unusual but still Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) was down

Then i checked out Flickr Blog (http://blog.flickr.com/en) blog located to findout if there was anything unusual happening with the website and then i found this

Ouch that Hurt!

One of the big switches that lets Flickr talk to the outside world went on vacation without telling anyone about 30 minutes ago. The problem has been fixed and we’re wobbling our way back up, but you might still see some strange behavior for the next 10-20 minutes.

Actual photo serving wasn’t affected so any photos you were showing elsewhere (like on your blog) should have gone on happily showing up.

update 12:58pm: hmmm, still stuck in baggage claim on the way back up. We’re looking at another 20 minutes at least until everything is all shiny.

update 1:33pm: all cuteness aside, our dedicated team of server whisperers are bringing each frightened server up one by one. This is taking a bit longer then they had promised us. Current predictions are 15 minutes. We’ll provide updates as necessary.

update 1:39pm: WE’RE BACK! Thanks for your patience.
